The Maples of Novi

Established 1990s Golf-Course Community

The Maples of Novi is a mature, amenity-rich community on the city’s northeast side, built around a private nine-hole executive golf course and clubhouse.

About The Maples of Novi

The Maples of Novi sits south of Fourteen Mile Road and east of Novi Road, less than a mile west of the M-5 connector. The community was built out between roughly 1990 and 1996, making it one of Novi’s first wave of master-planned golf-course neighborhoods — a generation older than Island Lake and with a correspondingly different feel. Mature canopy trees line the interior streets, and the par-31 Maples Golf Club, established in 1993, threads through the plat as the community’s organizing spine.

The housing mix is unusually broad for a single subdivision: detached single-family homes, attached ranch condos, and a handful of walkout-basement plans, with brick-and-cedar exteriors that mark the era cleanly. Floor plans favor vaulted great rooms, gas fireplaces, two-car attached garages, and first-floor primary suites on the ranch condo product. Resale pricing typically runs from the high $100,000s for interior attached condos to the mid-$400,000s for detached homes with golf-course frontage or walkout lots.

The Maples of Novi HOA maintains a clubhouse, outdoor pool, tennis courts, walking trails, and the entrance landscaping, and dues cover exterior landscaping and snow removal for the condo product — monthly fees in the low $300s are typical. The nine-hole Maples Golf Club is operated as a semi-private facility on the community’s interior, playable in roughly an hour and a half and used heavily by residents for after-work rounds; the clubhouse restaurant doubles as a casual community gathering point.

Schools fall under Walled Lake Consolidated — typically Hickory Woods Elementary, Geisler Middle, and Walled Lake Western High, all well-regarded within the district. Location is one of the Maples’ quiet advantages: Twelve Oaks Mall and the I-96/Novi Road interchange are about seven minutes south, Providence Park Hospital roughly ten, and the M-5 ramp at Pontiac Trail is two minutes east — putting downtown Birmingham inside a twenty-minute reach on a good evening.
